Policies and Rates
Fran Coleman recently opened Songbird's Studio, LLC in Midlothian, VA to expand quality voice training to all interested singers. Mrs. Coleman's teaching philosophy is to educate and inspire those who wish to explore the world of singing. I feel it is necessary to introduce proper technique by incorporating it into vocal exercises and the student’s choice of musical style so as to always keep their interests as well as reinforce their desire to practice. Through consistent practice and dedication to the craft, the student will successfully learn to use their instrument healthily and happily.
Welcome to the NEW Songbird’s Studio, L.L.C! This has been a brain child of mine for many years. I am blessed to finally have the opportunity to open the studio, and honored to be working with you and/or your children in it! As I have told you all previous to opening, I am confident that this will be a positive move; not only for myself, but for all involved. Having the talent to sing is just one step to be a competent performer. First, you have to cultivate confidence and pride within yourself. At Songbird’s Studio, L.L.C instilling these qualities is priority one! It is a studio designated to the training of singers and the growth of self-assured performers. Now that the studio is an official business and I, an official business owner, a few policies must be put in place. The following will be effective as of July 1, 2010.

CANCELLATIONS
I put this category in bold, underlined font and in all caps because it is imperative you understand and agree to this policy:
I am an active performer. This can sometimes cause me to have to reschedule lessons, but I will do everything possible to reschedule lessons in advance and without conflicts. When conflicts are unavoidable and I must cancel, the lesson will be made up or credited to the next month. Your time is important, and every effort will be made to make up missed lessons in a timely manner.
Students may cancel a lesson for any reason and a make-up lesson will be given ONLY IF 24 HOURSNOTICE IS GIVEN. If a lesson is canceled WITHOUT 24 hours of notice before the scheduled lesson time, the student is not eligible for a make-up lesson. Emergencies will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Emergencies are not: “I forgot…”; “I’m too busy today…”; “I accidentally scheduled something else…”; “I’m sick – (if you are sick, please cancel, but with at least 24 hours notice); etc… (I have heard some good ones).
In the case of a short notice conflict, you have the option to trade lesson times with another student in the studio. This option will save you from losing a lesson. A contact sheet and student schedule will be posted in studio for viewing at anytime.
Refunds: No refunds are given for any reason.
Contract: All students (and a parent or guardian of students under the age of 18) are asked to sign a contract stating that they have read and that they agree to the above policy. I will have them at the studio for you to sign on your first visit. Thank you again for being a part of my new studio. I wish for this to be a smooth transition and a great experience for everyone. Feel free to offer feedback, as I am always interested in what you are thinking. I look forward to working with you and your child at the new Songbird’s Studio, L.L.C.
